Pathways to Employment for Newcomers
Are you an employer looking for skilled talent and could benefit from a wage subsidy?
Pathways to Employment for Newcomers assists employers by providing wage subsidies for hiring skilled newcomers, as well as by providing upskilling opportunities and best practices techniques for recruiting, hiring, and integrating internationally educated professionals.
Funded by the Government of Canada, Pathways to Employment for Newcomers provides career coaching and accelerates the employment prospects for internationally educated professionals (IEPs) that are unemployed and underemployed in Canada, while simultaneously helping Canada’s industries accelerate their digital advantage, and further expand their employment prospects.
Participant Eligibility Criteria
Employment status: | Legally entitled to work in Canada |
Unemployed or underemployed at the time of the application | |
Have ability to commit to complete the six-month program | |
Residency status: | Landed in Canada within the last 5 years |
Permanent resident of Canada | |
Canadian Citizen | |
Person for whom refugee protection has been bestowed under the Immigration Refugee and Protection Act | |
Employer Eligibility Criteria
Location: | Registered and located in Canada |
Industry | Canada’s digital/ICT industry |
Employment conditions: | Provide a work integrated learning placement |
Hire the participant as an employee on payroll | |
Minimum annual salary of $45,000 All employers are encouraged to provide fair market value to their candidates. Please refer to the Government of Canada’s Job Bank for more information. | |
